The Brand New LP

I'm pretty slow at this but I also realize that it doesn't really matter, everything happens in it's own time.  I guess I've let go of the idea of ever making money from music, including enough to make it pay for itself.  It's an expensive hobby and often times it feels like a vanity project.  So I will cut down on the expenses starting with paying for distribution.  From now on my music will be available exclusively here on my website.  Well not right away I think my subscription to Tunecore still has a couple more months to go and I do have one electronic album I put out through CDBaby that will remain available on streaming platforms.  The point being is if they don't pay squat anyway then what is the point of having my music on them and nobody is streaming them anyway so let my music be for those dedicated enough to finding it.  You'll still be able to stream my back catalogue for free here and if you want to download it it is available for a small fee.  You're welcome to download it and burn it on to aa CD and share it with your friends, I don't care.  The truth is I write songs for myself as a processing tool, as a release, an escape and just something to do with my time.  I don't think of them as my songs per se as a songwriter I'm just the conduit for them to come through and be released into the world.  I record them because I want something new to listen to.  I've hit that age where new music doesn't resonate with me and old music is played out.  I'd like to think that somewhere out there someone will hear my song and it will strike a chord and maybe help them get over a tough time or be a soundtrack to an adventure or an anchor to a memory and if they do that's great.  That's what it's all about.  I guess on some level I feel that a song is just notes and words until it has an audience, to be witnessed makes it real.  So I will drop my new album here very soon and it can be made real by all of you.  I'll throw a little teaser out there for you first the lead track off my up coming LP.  The first hits free, after that it's gonna cost ya.
